Milk Trays

Make the right choice for yourself and your baby. Freeze your expressed breast milk in Milk Trays™.

Safer, easier and more economical choice for breastfeeding mothers who want to create a frozen stash of their breast milk.

If you are a working mom, an on-the-go mom, or

just a mom wanting the security of knowing that she will never run out of breast milk then Milk Trays™ are the right choice for you!

Milk Trays™ are:

  • a breast milk freezing system made from PETG plastic which is a medical-grade and FDA-approved plastic that meets the highest standards in plastics manufacturing in the US and in Europe!

  • made from a higher grade of plastic than nurser bags and are even safe for the environment.

  •  a breast milk storage system that will eliminate many of the problems breastfeeding/breast pumping mothers face today.

  • 16 semi-cylinder cavities that equal 1 ounce each, eliminating waste common with nurser bags

  • These one-ounce Milk Sticks fit through ALL bottle openings, unlike “ice cubes”

  • Lids that block out freezer burn, eliminate freezer smells and are easy to stack

  • Slim in size to ensure ample room in the freezer

  • Withstands temperatures from –40˚ to 212˚ (boiling begins at 212˚)

  • Plastic that is very flexible making it easy to remove the frozen Milk Sticks.

  • Reusable and can last, depending on use, for up to one year

  • Made from hard plastic and does not allow fat soluble nutrients to adhere or cling to the sides like the soft plastic of nurser bags

  • Invented by breastfeeding, working moms

  • not ice cube trays (or ice cube trays with lids).

  • a breast milk freezing system that has been specifically designed for breast milk.

  • Milk Trays™ (breast milk storage trays) are used to freeze expressed breast milk, not actually store breast milk. Breastfeeding/pumping mothers will pump their breast milk into the bottles that come with the breast pumps and then pour that expressed breast milk into their Milk Trays™. This will then freeze it into the one-ounce servings and patented shape that will fit into any bottle opening in just a few short hours. Once frozen mothers will then “pop out” their one-ounce Milk Sticks™ and store them in freezer safe zip lock bags (easily found in every kitchen) until ready to use. Now the trays can be reused for the next round(s) of pumping.

Freezing expressed breast milk this way allows for more room in the freezer by allowing mothers to place as many ounces as they want (usually over a two week span) into one bag. Since the one-ounce Milk Sticks™ are already frozen they remain separated in the bag allowing mothers to remove only the ounces needed for that bottle at that time. Also in one-ounce servings breast milk freezes faster minimizing the amount of nutrients lost during the freezing process. Freezer safe zip lock bags are safe to hold frozen food products like breast milk remember the milk is already frozen! It is safe to touch the frozen breast milk as long as hands are washed prior to touching the milk.

Let’s face it, breast pumping is hard! Babies know how to get feed better than we can pump. However since women make up over 46% of the work force, mothers wanting to continue working and breast feeding have to pump and store their breast milk. Breast pumping requires dedication and patience not to mention staying hydrated and well rested! What mother can achieve all that?

Since mothers don’t want to have hundreds of barely filled nurser bags in their freezer they tend to pour four to eight ounces into each bag. The entire bag must be thawed and since breast milk cannot be refrozen once thawed (even warming then cooling then warming again is also a “no-no” because of early spoiling and even more destruction of valuable nutrients) usually several ounces get thrown away. Think about that for a moment…several ounces thrown away…that can really add up over time.

Here are just some simple numbers to consider……

If you were to waste only two ounces of breast milk in one day.
That equals 10 ounces wasted in one work week!
That adds up to 40 ounces wasted in one work month!
You have now wasted 480 ounces in one year!

WOW, and that is only counting just two ounces a day.

How To Use

Warning : Do not boil or place Milk Trays in your dishwasher or sterilizer. Due to their flexibility, which makes Milk Trays easier to use and the lack of a harding agent called Bisphenol-A, exposing them to extreme heat or varying temperatures will warp or melt your trays

  • No need to Sterilize - Not all micro-organisms can be killed with only heat. Milk Trays are made from medical grade plastic. This type of plastic will not leach chemicals into your breast milk
  • Wash in Warm, Soapy Water - since your trays are new, the lids fit snug and will loosen some more over time. To maintain the lid seal and longer lasting of your Milk Trays, wash in warm, soapy water.
  • One-Ounce Milk Sticks - Each cavity has a thin one-ounce fill line all the way around, approximately 1/8 inch down from the top. Due to the clarity of the plastic, the line is slightly hard to see, but can be felt. Be sure to only fill breast milk to the line since breast milk expands while freezing.
  • Freeze in Confidence -  Freeze breast milk in one-ounce Milk Sticks and transfer them for storage into a zip lock freezer bag. This allows storage of MORE ounces while taking up less freezer space. NOTE: Do not store more than 2 weeks worth of breast milk in one bag. Write the dates on the bag and be sure to use the oldest bag first.
  • Freezing Over Time - breast milk can be kept inside (not in the door) of a conventional freezer (top-mount of side by side) for up to 6 months or in a deep freezer for up to one year. Following the freezing tips (using zip lock freezer bags and dating your bags) should ensure little to no spoilage of your breast milk)
  • Once Thawed - Reminder to  NEVER refreeze breast milk once thawed and use the thawed breast milk within 12 hours.
  • Thawing Tips - 3 ways to defrost Milk Sticks
